Monday came and went and I heard nothing, Tues I called Childrens and they had never even heard of my son! Got in with his regular doc. Dr called NM and got his xrays. He came in the room and said it is a spiral fracture, and his bone growth is very concerning.
If I could give 0 stars I would. One is too good for this place.
Took my son in last Friday with what I was told was either a sprained or broken ankle by his school nurse. His Dr closed early, North Metro was around the corner, so we went to the ER. It took them 6 hours to splint his 'chipped' and sprined ankle, give him a T-3 and tell me that they couldn't get him a transfer to Childrens. They said Childrens Ortho would call me on Monday with his appointment.
Girlfriend has asthma and could not accompany her when she was in icu amd they also made her anxiety sky rocket and made her cry because i couldnt spend even and hour with her before i had to leave. DONT GO HERE
This hospital always gets a bad rap but I would like for everyone to know they saved my life when I should be dead. I was in ICU for over 7 days, the nurses their busted their butts saving my life.
I came to North Metro one night while visiting a loved one at Little Rock AFB as it was the nearest ER. I have problems with Chronic Venous Insufficiency, had been driving for two days, and was having painful cramping as well as a mysterious lump in my upper thigh. My concern was a possible DVT. My first instinct was to go to an urgent care, but the local urgent cares in Cabot had informed me that this was an ER visit. Furthermore, when I inquired with an urgent care receptionist about North Metro she laughed and said they NEVER refer patients to North Metro. So she referred me to St. Vincent and I wish I had listened!!! The front desk at North Metro didn't seem to know if they could or could not bill out-of-state Medicaid (I would expect front desk clerks at an ER to know which insurances they can or cannot bill), but they kindly gave me the impression that they would try. Then when I attempted to use the restroom in the waiting room, the toilet was clogged, almost flooded with feces; it was extremely unsanitary! So I informed the front desk and she guided me to a different restroom. Finally, after waiting over an hour for the doctor to see me, she was very rude, patronizing, and dismissive. She barely listened to my concerns and barely glanced at the lump on my leg. She told me "That looks like a bug bite, welcome to Arkansas. What exactly do you want us to do about it?" I was appalled at her curt response and the way she made me feel like I was a bother, but I assured her that the lump was not a bug bite, that I have vein problems, had been traveling for two days, and wanted to make sure I did not have a DVT. Although she did no sort of physical exam whatsoever, she insisted I did not have a DVT and left the room in a hurry. A nurse came back and told me to take Ibuprofen and gave me a handout on DVT. The whole visit was about 5 minutes or less. On the way out I had to use the restroom again, and it was still clogged and flooded with feces an hour later. I also noticed there were several dirty bandaids on the floors in the halls and in my room as if nobody had swept in a long time. My overall impression of North Metro is that the providers were rude and half-ass - at least mine was - and that if you don't have any sort of illness going in, you probably will coming out because it's so dirty. When I arrived back to my home state and followed up with my doctor we found the lump was in fact a large superficial clot near the junction that meets the deep vein system that could have very well broken off and travelled. Less than a month later I received a bill from North Metro for $698 dollars!!! They certainly did NOT provide $698 worth of services, and I want to know how they justify this bill. The bill didn't explain a breakdown of services or even have the correct doctor's name on it. I will be disputing this. So if anyone does have an emergency and can make it down the road to St. Vincent, please do so for your own sake. At least that's the recommendation I will be making to the folks I know at Little Rock AFB.
Rude staff that made my loved one feel depressed and added to her anxiety. Tried to talk to them to make things better and they were rude to me too. Do not use this hospital. The staff is very hateful and treated my love one like a child or like they were stupid.
I am debating on calling a malpractice lawyer because as of today, 5 days after his ankle was broken we FINALLY have an appointment with an Ortho Dr. 5 days he has been in a splint, 5 days without anything for pain but ibuprofen. 3 days of missed school and 3 days of missed work for me! He is a 13 yo boy and a champ. I am sickened by this ratty hospital. Don't take your kids here!
